Decorating in Chester

Chester's housing stock is unusually varied. Georgian and Victorian townhouses in the city, red brick terraces in Hoole and Handbridge, substantial period houses in Curzon Park and Upton, and modern family homes on the outskirts. Adam has worked on all of them, and knows how differently they behave. A Hoole terrace with lath and plaster walls needs a completely different approach to a new build in Saughall.

Period work in the city means respecting detail: panelled doors, deep skirtings, moulded architraves, plaster cornices and sash windows. Those get hand cut-in work, careful sanding and, where required, specialist finishes such as marbling and dragging. Adam's decorative and mural work has been featured in publications including Period Living and Kevin McCloud's 'The Complete Decorator'.

Moving to North Wales did not end the Chester side of the business. Chester and the surrounding villages remain a core part of the diary, usually planned as concentrated blocks of work so the job runs continuously from start to finish.
