Decorating in Abergele

Abergele mixes older stone cottages and terraces in the town centre with large post-war and modern estates spreading out towards Pensarn and St George. Older properties usually need patient preparation, thick historic paint layers on joinery, hairline cracking in plaster, and skirtings that have lost their profile. Newer houses tend to need the opposite: a properly bonded first coat on fresh plaster and careful caulking where builder-grade finishing left gaps.

The rural fringe adds another kind of work, farmhouses and converted outbuildings with substantial exterior timber, render and metalwork. These are quoted with a realistic preparation allowance so the finish behaves for years rather than months.

Whatever the property, the process is the same: a proper look before quoting, a written price covering preparation as well as topcoats, and a clean, protected site while the work runs.
